James S. Ferlmann

Biography

James Ferlmann is a seasoned attorney admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2015, with a practice focused on landlord-tenant law, contract law, civil litigation, and criminal defense. In 2024, he was honored with recognition as one of the “Top 40 Criminal Defense Attorneys Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers, an exclusive organization recognizing exceptional legal professionals.

A native of Chicago, Mr. Ferlmann has called Arizona home since 2011. His legal career includes significant experience as a Deputy County Attorney at the Mohave County Attorney’s Office, where he served from 2017 to 2021. During this time, he successfully prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony offenses, gaining extensive litigation and trial experience.

In 2021, he joined West Valley Accident Attorneys, where he continues to advocate for clients in a variety of legal matters. Additionally, he is an active member of the West Maricopa County Bar Association, contributing to the legal community in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Mr. Ferlmann earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arizona College of Law in 2014. Prior to law school, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Ferlmann enjoys reading extensively on topics related to history and philosophy, which enriches his intellectual pursuits. He values spending time with his family and has a particular passion for the sport of fencing.
